Refugee Donations 1/2 February
YOU’VE DONE IT AGAIN!!
We asked you to make a donation to the refugees and you came up trumps!
On the 11th and 12th January we asked you to bring your donations to our Church of St Philleigh and again we have been overwhelmed by your response and generosity.
By using social media and the internet we are now reaching a greater audience and so we have had more extremely generous donations from people outside the parish; this demonstrates all that is good about the net and the people of Cornwall!
Your donation was loaded up and transported to the Wadebridge collection and distribution centre, where a band of volunteers sorted it and then added it to all the other contributions from around Cornwall ready for onward transportation to Plymouth. From Plymouth a container will go to Syria (some of the warm clothing will go to the camp at Calais)
CAN WE DO IT AGAIN?
(YES WE CAN!!)
As you can imagine when seeing the images and hearing the reports of the plight of the refugees, the demand for help outstrips the supply and so we are asking again for your help.
On the 7th February a container will be loaded with donations from around Cornwall and forwarded to Plymouth. From here it will go to Syria for distribution to the refugees. This will be the last time the warehouse at Wadebridge can be used for collections, as the owners now require it for its original purpose.
On the 1st (10.00-12.00) and 2nd (2.00-4.00) February we are again asking you to donate to the refugees (shown below is the list of items required.)
